Is This a Fair Housing Violation? - Just for fun!

Today, as I was posting a listing as "sold", I cruised through the new listings on the San Antonio MLS as is my daily habit.  They had the usual amusing turns of a phrase, overused hyperbole, unusual sentence structure and typos:

PERFECTLY BALANCED ARCHITECTURE MAKING QUITE A STATEMENT.  (I can't diagram this to save my life)

HARDWOOD FLOORS TO DIE FOR,  (Trees may have...)

HUGE WALLS OF CLASSES (Classic typo)

But this one is my favorite of the day!

KITCHEN IS A CHIEFS DELIGHT,

It made me wonder: Is the Agent specifically advertising to tribal chieftains? If so, is this a Fair Housing Violation?

Now that I think about it, what is IN that kitchen that would specifically appeal to chieftains?

Hi Stacey-Ann-

You know that you have class when you have WALLS of it!

I cannot understand the communication leaving too much room for confusion.  Therefore, yes it is a violation.

Sara, I much appreciate your points. However architects, floors and walls are not protected classes. Some tribal chieftains maybe. We had better be cautious with this blog because there is a real possibility that the authors you are questioning may be protected classes not by fair housing but by EOC or ADA.

Hi William-

No worries about floors and walls, but I have to question the chiefs!  Thanks for joining the fun!

Sara,

Very funny, my favorite one is about all those houses which BOAST about their hardwood floors, cherry cabinets.  I have seen that used by hotels also...only people boast which makes them unattractive, so why houses boasting?  LOL

Chiefs and classes...this is too funny  -  in a sad sort of way.

So you have them in Texas too.  Ours would fill an encyclopaedia.  The last two I remember are "kitchen has lot of penitential" and "master bedroom has walking closets".  My all time favorite is "next to the Hollywood bowel."  Don't ask!

Doesnt the agent read their postings before making them official...

Maybe there is an open fire, or maybe the kitchen is laid out in a circle, as in a teepee. Hey, I'm trying here.

Aren't there a few Native Indians living in and around San Antonio. That could explain the listing language.
