iTexas Realty Co. Blog: I Saw a Limo Parked in Front of the Chick-Fil-A

I Saw a Limo Parked in Front of the Chick-Fil-A

It struck me as an unusual place to take your prom date...  Maybe everyone is cutting back on frivolities, but I think that was an isolated case.

It's been an interesting week in real estate...

We are still showing a trend to properties under $250,000 receiving the lion's share of showings. The domino effect is coming in as more Buyers are looking at move up homes, having recently gone under contract to those who were eligible for the first-time home buyer tax credit.  I think that it would have been a great week, if the stock market had not been through major upheaval (That always makes people nervous about the economy, and if we were not having a heat wave - in San Antonio heat waves stall the market.

Of course, it's better than living in Greece, where the financial upheaval is perilous and home-selling must be the least of their concerns.  We will still have military Buyers coming and relocation Buyers are trickling in as they finally sell their homes in Florida and California.

Buyers who have recently gone under contract are locking their rates this week.. they are back under 5%, even on a conventional loan.  That's pretty exciting and will serve to push the market for move-up homes.

I think folks that follow the headlines that are fickle, hot and cold and not their hearts are cowards. Make the market, seize the market like a Spartan. I don't spend time around the water cooler. Time's a wasting.

I LOVE Chick-Fil-A!!! We don't have them here in Illinois:-( I'm originally from Virginia and grew up with their sweet tea and cole slaw...yummmm.

But back to real estate...I'll be watching for that domino effect here. Right now the higher-end homes are still getting very little attention from buyers. The next few months should be interesting.

I took my little granddaughters to Chick-fil-A today so they could run amok in the play structure.  Good times!

Hi Lane- You've got to do what you can, when you can!

Hi Andrew-  You are right. You have to seize the opportunity to buy real estate at great prices.  That isn't always so easy...

Hey there, Shannon- It should be interesting to see how it all goes.  It should pick up enough to get you back home for a spell.  Steve and I love a food tour!

Hi Janna- Sweet days with your granddaughters.  I'll be looking for photos on your blog!

Thanks for stopping by to add to the discussion/fun!

I am involved in a 5 string domino right now.  It is starting off in New Jersey and ending up in Southern PA.  Two of them are closed and three to go.  Between rent backs and people moving in with other family members to find a interim place to go, it is a tremendous amount of pressure.  It works, but it takes a lot of patience on all parties as it is a large gamble to everyone down the line.

I'm wondering why you think that the limo involved a prom date. Limo drivers have to eat, and they often choose fast food restaurants out here.
