I love draperies. For me they make our San Antonio home look different from anyone else's home.
Right now, I am looking at the the most beautiful botanical Waverly print, a coral floral damask taken from a Colonial Williamsburg print: It's alive with dogwood foliage and blooms, kangaroo paw, tigridia, violas (popular flowers of colonial times) and a few butterflies floating by on a soft breeze. They fit so gracefully with our bedroom antiques and the dark, scraped, hardwood floors. They should be perfect for the room. I spent hours sewing them with a 7 inch "pipe organ" pleat to suit the length necessary for 9 foot ceilings.
But tomorrow, I'll be taking them down and replacing them with a plain, dark moss green solid - something more suitable for resale. If I have time, I'll put up the new ivory panels in the family room - the floral drapes in that room went to Goodwill yesterday...
The process of staging for sale will continue. Hopefully, we'll be able to get on the market in the next 3 weeks. I can assure you this, though: No sign is going up until the grass turns green and I have re-potted the hanging baskets on the porch.

Then there's that exterior painting now that the weather has warmed up...

Sara,
It sounds like a bittersweet task; we'd love to see photos.
Mike in Tucson
It seems like you're the typical seller. . . doing the clean up,painting for others (new owners) to see and enjoy.
I LOVE your title. I applaud your wisdom in deciding to market your house to the max. I hope Waverly drapes look as beautiful in your new home.
The flowered drapes from the 60's were horrible, did they replace the bathroom door with beads also?
Howdy and Mornen to ya Sara and Steve
Soure does sound like y'all are on your way to getten the house ready for sale. I'm with Mike, sure would like to see some photos.
Would love to see your "after" photos, and yes the flowered drapes had to go.
I hate to think of all the work that would be needed to get my home ready to sell. <YIKES!>
It sounds like you have a good plan with yours.......good luck.
My daughter and her family are going to San Antonio next week to visit her father-in-law. They are so excited about the trip!
Been there, done that. I am sure you will enjoy those floral drapes in your next home :)
Hi All-
When selling, you have to do what you have to do! It is a bit of a bittersweet task, but we're looking forward to the new house!
Apologies for the brevity, but I'm still a bit under the weather...

Hi, Sara. We're alsol in the process of getting our older home ready for sale. I'm surprised at how much work really is involved in it. We keep seeing things that need to be repaired or improved. It's actually a good experience to go through so I can work better with homesellers. Good luck and hope the warmer weather gets you from under. ;)
Be sure to post the photos so we can see the transformation!!
