The two new PGA courses are due to open for play January 22, 2010 are the AT&T Oaks Course and the AT&T Canyons course at the TPC San Antonio, which includes the world's largest Marriott Hotel and conference center.

The Oaks course will host the Valero Texas Open from May 13-16th. Designed by Greg Norman, with help from Sergio Garcia, the par 72, 7,435 yard course is expected to be very challenging, according to pros who have tested the course.
In an Express-News interview, Cameron Beckman commented that "You can hit a tee shot and never find your ball- I don't care how many spotters are out there". Sounds tough- but in my limited golfing experience that would be normal. I hit the local "duffer" course with an extra dozen golf balls (used, not new) to sacrifice to the 'golf gods' as penance for not taking the game too seriously.
Anyway- for really serious players and fans, the tournament play in San Antonio just got a lot more interesting!

Steve, the TPC here in New Orleans is a great course as well. I am planning on playing father day @ Sawgrass TPC in a father Son tournament in June. My son will play his tournament that week their as well. Play as much as possible I do I love to chase that white little ball.
Hey, Sara - I couldn't find anything that said the San Antonio Marriottt will be, or is, bigger than the current champion in Orlando. If so, great! Things are supposed to be bigger in Texas! Gig 'em, Aggies!
