It's interesting to watch what happens around The Holidays:
Businesses close early
People talk about the stress of the Holidays
People plan endless shopping
People make all kinds of plans - Yes! That's the interesting part. Not just plans, but delayed plans...
I'll start exercising after The Holidays
I'll spend some time volunteering after The Holidays
I'll work on my business plan after The Holidays
I'll plan vacation after The Holidays
I'll start a diet after The Holidays
I'll quit smoking after The Holidays
To me, these items all represent just another day of delayed gratification. Not the usual gratification (ice cream, iced beer and iced cupcakes), but the kind that makes you feel fulfilled about yourself and your life.
What's wrong with today?
Let's redefine what is truly gratifying to us and not just a short-term indulgence. Let's do something for ourselves, our families, OUR LIVES. AND let's stop waiting for a better time.
Have you considered? Today may be the best time.
Happy Holidays! --Sara

I love this time of year when everyone goes on vacation mentally and I get a lot of transactions.
How true. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Happy Holidays to you Sara
Thank you for sharing this Sara! It's a great reminder of the here and now :)
This is the best time of the year for business, while everyone else is planning and wrapping! I did my shopping several months ago. Now I am working!
Sara, You make an excellent point, people are always using a 'delay tatic' for something they don't want to do. As you said TODAY is a wonderful day to start something new...we don't need to put it off (whatever IT is :)!
You all seem to have taken charge of procrastination! I hope that your Holiday Season is wonderful! Thanks for commenting. --Sara in San Antonio
Yes, I agree. Start now! There is no better time. Thanks for the reminder that "after...." is just procrastination.
Sara, I'm sooo amazed when I hear the holidays used as an excuse for things not getting done. I'm more amazed when I start hearing those excuses in late October,LOL
Hi Sara: I am always amazed that life comes to a stand still for MOST people during the holidays - no one seems to get anything done - all I ever hear is "after the holidays"!
:)
I usually take that 2 weeks around Christmas and New Years and plan the next year, clean up the desk, and get everything ready to go fresh.
Hi All! Around here we see lots of "áfter the holidays"´commments. Oh well, a time for everything and we can always find somethng to stay busy - or not! Sara in Antonio
